JOB TITLE: Board Certified Behavior Analyst               WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt    

 

REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education             PAY GRADE/DAYS:     AP2/207

 

DEPT./SCHOOL:   Special Education/District wide           DATE REVISED:        4/2019

                                               

 

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:  Provide direct and consultative therapeutic and evaluative services for the diagnostic, preventive and interventive purposes, and when necessary, provide direct services and/or support to students.   The BCBA teaches others to carry out ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers instruction in behavior analysis.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education/Certification:

Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, Educational/Health/Human Services, or related field

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of current trends and best practices in intervention for students with social, emotional and behavioral challenges

Excellent oral and written communication skills required

           

Experience:

Minimum of one year Applied Behavior Analysis work experience, required OR

Experience with students with social, emotional and behavior challenges

Experience with Functional Behavior Assessments, data collection to monitor and measure student growth, therapeutic intervention to support learning, and state-mandated reporting

Two years special education teaching experience, preferred

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

  1. Conduct Functional Behavior Assessment and Classroom Needs Assessments
  2. Develop Behavior Intervention Plans and Strategies
  3. Analyze data and implement data-driven program changes
  4. Complete all necessary paperwork (session notes, reports, data sheets, etc.)
  5. Design, review and update programs/curriculum
  6. Communicate regularly with parents, campus leadership and behavior teams
  7. Provide training and resources to teaching staff, aides and other personnel
  8. Consult with teachers and administrator to support student progress and programming needs
  9. Deliver behavior support instruction to students
  10. Provide parent and family/care giver training (individual and/or group)
  11. Maintain confidentiality and perform all duties according to ethical standards/guidelines while ensuring program quality assurance

Mental Demands:

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); provide direction & guidance to colleagues; maintain emotional control under stress; establish effective relationships with & motivate colleagues; understand special education rules & regulations and apply this knowledge to procedures

 

Physical Demand/Environmental Factors:

Regular district wide travel; occasional evening hours; moderate lifting and carrying (under 15 pounds)
